Manchester, New Hampshire – A 35-year-old man, Jake Chiaradonna, died after being shot by a police officer in Manchester on Friday. The incident occurred in the area of Pine and Plummer streets, where Chiaradonna was spotted by two patrol officers in a car. He was wanted in connection with a January 11 robbery.
According to investigators, Chiaradonna refused to comply with the officers’ instructions and began acting erratically. Despite the police’s use of less-than-lethal force, he continued to resist and fled on foot. The situation escalated when Chiaradonna assaulted a police K-9 with a screwdriver, prompting an officer to fire at him, striking him.
