The father was identified as Seamus Dempsey, while the child was identified as Liam Dempsey.

The caller, Estefania Dempsey, revealed to the police that her husband had shot their son with a handgun before the authorities arrived. Additionally, they were informed that a 79-year-old mother-in-law was still inside the residence with the alleged assailant.
