Police Respond to Tragic Murder-Suicide in Warwick Home

Warwick, Rhode Island – A tragic incident unfolded on Frawley Street in Warwick, Rhode Island, where the Warwick Police Department reported that a 33-year-old father shot and killed his 4-year-old son before taking his own life. The father was identified as Seamus Dempsey, while the child was identified as Liam Dempsey.

The heartbreaking discovery was made when officers responded to a call regarding a possible homicide at the home on Thursday morning. The caller, Estefania Dempsey, revealed to the police that her husband had shot their son with a handgun before the authorities arrived. Additionally, they were informed that a 79-year-old mother-in-law was still inside the residence with the alleged assailant.

Upon entering the home, officers found the lifeless bodies of both Liam and Seamus, both having suffered from gunshot wounds. The mother-in-law, identified as Ellen Dempsey, was fortunately able to communicate with the officers and safely exit the home, escaping unharmed.
