Police Say Dad Ordered Daughter’s Bus Fight

FERGUSON, MO – A Ferguson father is facing legal trouble after allegedly encouraging his young daughter to attack another student on a school bus. The incident has sparked widespread concern about parental influence and conflict resolution.

Authorities have charged 36-year-old Maurice Fox with multiple misdemeanors after he reportedly boarded a school bus with his 6-year-old daughter and urged her to assault a 7-year-old girl. The confrontation, captured on video, allegedly shows Fox instructing his daughter to continue the attack until the other child cried.

In response, Tricia Davis, a parenting expert, emphasized the importance of setting a positive example for children. “Children mimic what they see,” Davis explained. “It’s essential for parents to demonstrate peaceful ways to handle disputes.”

The Ferguson Florissant School District condemned the incident, reiterating that school buses are considered part of the school environment and that such behavior is unacceptable.

Local police swiftly intervened, highlighting the need for parents to abandon outdated and harmful notions of retaliation. Encouraging violence, they noted, can lead to long-term trauma for children.

Fox now faces charges including trespassing and assault, and if arrested, he will be held on a $100,000 bond. His past criminal record includes convictions for armed robbery and aggravated battery.

This case underscores the critical role parents play in teaching children how to manage conflicts constructively and peacefully.
