Seoul, South Korea — Authorities are intensifying their investigation into a shocking incident involving a man who is accused of fatally shooting his son in what began as a family celebration. The 62-year-old suspect, who also allegedly targeted other family members, faces new charges, including attempted murder.
Police officials announced Friday that they plan to charge the man with attempted murder, in addition to existing charges of murder, illegal possession of firearms, and attempted arson. The suspect is believed to have aimed not only at his 33-year-old son but also at his daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and a family associate who was present at the time.
The evidence gathered by law enforcement suggests that the suspect pursued the foreign guest after the initial shooting, which occurred Sunday night on the 33rd floor of an apartment in Songdo, Incheon.
