Registration of Births and Deaths Training Empowers District Officials in Longleng

Longleng, Nagaland – District Economics and Statistics (DES) Office in Longleng recently conducted district-level training on “online registration of births and deaths” to enhance the efficiency and accountability of registrars in their roles. The training, held on February 23 at the District DES Office’s Conference Hall, aimed to emphasize the significance of maintaining accurate records of birth and death occurrences within the district.

During the program, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths, Dharam Raj, addressed the attendees and stressed the essential role of registrars in ensuring proper documentation. Raj highlighted the issue of multiple birth certificates and urged against issuing them, citing negligence and cautioning against such practices that undermine the integrity of the registration process.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining precise records, Raj expressed optimism that the training would equip registrars with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their duties diligently and responsibly. The inaugural program, chaired by IOS Amos Phom, featured an introductory note delivered by deputy director and DESO, Longleng, R Thsanso Yimchunger, setting the tone for the training session.

Led by Chonbeni Oren Patton, ESO from DES Kohima, the training provided registrars from various registration units in the Longleng district with valuable insights and guidance on the online registration processes. The initiative aimed to streamline the registration system, reduce errors, and enhance the overall efficiency and accuracy of birth and death records within the district.

By equipping registrars with the necessary skills and knowledge, the District Economics and Statistics Office in Longleng is committed to ensuring that all birth and death registrations are conducted with the highest degree of professionalism and accountability.
