Longleng, India – A district-level training session focusing on the online registration of births and deaths took place at the Conference Hall of the District Economics and Statistics Office in Longleng. Registrars from various registration units within the district attended the training, which aimed to enhance their skills and efficiency in fulfilling their roles.
During the event, Deputy Commissioner and District Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths, Dharam Raj, emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate records in the registration process. He stressed the significance of avoiding the issuance of multiple birth certificates, as individuals can only be born or die once in their lifetime. Addressing instances of multiple certificates, the Deputy Commissioner pointed out that such occurrences reflect negligence and must be rectified to ensure the integrity of the registration system.
Expectations were set high for the registrars to demonstrate efficiency, sincerity, and accountability in carrying out their responsibilities, following the comprehensive training provided by the Department. The goal is to streamline the registration process and eliminate discrepancies in birth and death records.
R Thsanso Yimchunger, Deputy Director and DESO of Longleng, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, District Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths, and the Resource Person, Chonbeni Oren Patton, Economic and Statistics Officer (ESO) from DES Kohima, for their participation in the event. Their expertise and guidance were invaluable in empowering the registrars to excel in their roles within the registration units.
The inaugural program, presided over by Amos Phom, IOS, marked the beginning of a concerted effort to ensure the effective and accurate registration of births and deaths in Longleng district. By enhancing the skills and knowledge of registrars, the training session aimed to strengthen the integrity of the registration system and uphold the importance of maintaining precise records for future generations.
