Second Arrest Made in Middletown Bar Shooting, Victim Identified as Jessie James Jones

Middletown, Ohio — A second individual has been taken into custody following a fatal shooting that left one man dead and several others injured in the early hours of June 16. Jerome Collier, 51, of Hamilton, faces a murder charge in relation to the death of 36-year-old Jessie James Jones, according to an announcement from local law enforcement.

Collier’s arrest came on Saturday, while Dyshonna T. Goins was apprehended the previous Friday evening. Goins, whose age has not been disclosed, is charged with felonious assault. Both arrests mark significant developments in an ongoing investigation by the Middletown Division of Police, supported by the Kettering Police Department.

The violent encounter unfolded outside Bar II, located on Elliott Drive, around 2:40 a.m. on June 16. The incident reportedly began with a physical altercation in the bar’s parking lot, which quickly escalated into gunfire. Three additional people sustained injuries during the incident.
