DALLAS, TX – A store owner was shot and killed in a shocking incident at The Shoppes at Red Bird on Tuesday. Authorities identified Roshunda Lowe as the suspect who allegedly carried out the fatal shooting of Jamie Rocket.
Eyewitnesses reported a heated argument between the two before shots rang out. It was revealed through court documents that Rocket had a restraining order against Lowe, indicating a fraught history.
Lowe’s arrival at the mall was captured on surveillance, showing her engaging in a prolonged discussion with Rocket at his shop. The situation escalated when Lowe allegedly brandished a handgun and shot Rocket multiple times.
Footage shows Lowe jumping over the counter to continue firing at close range. Afterward, she left the scene in a white SUV, as confirmed by investigators.
The Shoppes at Red Bird expressed their condolences in a statement, categorizing the shooting as an isolated event. They assured the public of ongoing measures to ensure safety on the premises.
Lowe turned herself in to authorities later that day. During her arrest, she described the incident as a domestic issue involving her ex. Rocket’s wife had previously reported Lowe’s harassment to the police.
Lowe is currently detained in Dallas County Jail, facing murder charges. Her bond has yet to be set as the community processes the tragedy and awaits further developments.
