JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office released new details on Thursday regarding the shooting that took the lives of two men and injured another at the MiniMart on Highway 53 the previous night.
Sheriff Chris Thomas identified the victims as 18-year-old Christian Peterson and 19-year-old Kalib Bostick, who were found dead outside the 53 Mini Mart. A third victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is listed in stable condition. The shooting reportedly occurred during a drug deal that turned into a robbery, with a potential gang involvement. Several guns, including a stolen one, were found at the scene.
Wali Johnson, 20, was arrested in connection to the shooting and is facing multiple charges, including murder and robbery. A 17-year-old, also arrested, is facing the same charges. The investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of more charges or arrests as the Sheriff’s office continues to work on the case.
