Authorities responded to reports of a shooting and car crash in the 2200 block of Reece Boulevard. The scene revealed a juvenile inside a vehicle, fatally wounded from gunshot injuries. Another victim sustained critical gunshot wounds and was rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to Kennedy, the collaboration between VCU, TPD, and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office was crucial in processing the extensive crime scene. The tragic incident was determined to be a result of an attempted robbery, leading to the driver being shot and subsequently crashing into a residence.
A juvenile suspect has been arrested and is facing charges of felony murder and first-degree robbery.
