Croydon, United Kingdom — A 29-year-old man from Croydon was sentenced to over 14 years in prison for assaulting a woman he had just met, marking a gruesome crime that showcased the perpetrator’s brutality in south London. Heilab Assefa, residing on London Road, captured his own criminal actions on film during the attack which occurred right outside his home.

Croydon Crown Court heard that police were dispatched to London Road around midnight following reports of the assault. Assefa was apprehended at the scene shortly after the assault began.
