New York City, USA – A man is recovering in the hospital after being viciously stabbed during a violent altercation at a bowling alley on the Lower East Side early Monday morning. The incident took place at the Gutter Bowling Alley near the intersection of Broome and Essex Streets around 1:40 a.m.
According to authorities, the 21-year-old victim was involved in a verbal dispute with at least three other men who proceeded to physically assault him with punches and kicks. One of the assailants then brandished a sharp object and slashed the victim in the neck before fleeing the scene.
The victim, who was found bleeding from the neck and with a head laceration, managed to get into a vehicle and drive away before seeking help. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Police from the 7th Precinct responded to the incident and are currently investigating the case. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the bowling alley for any leads. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing.
