Stabbing Suspect Shot and Killed by Police in Beloit After Violent Threats

BELOIT, Wis. – A stabbing incident in Beloit ended with the suspect being shot and killed by police on Thursday afternoon, resulting in one officer being injured during the encounter.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Beloit Police Department was called to the 2000 block of Frederick Street in response to reports of a stabbing just prior to 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman with stab wounds and encountered the suspect, who was armed and making threatening gestures towards another individual believed to be inside the residence.

Initial attempts to subdue the suspect using non-lethal methods proved unsuccessful, leading to a second officer firing their weapon, resulting in the suspect’s death at the scene. It was later determined that no one else was present inside the home during the altercation.

The victim of the stabbing was transported to a hospital and later moved to a trauma center, where she is currently in stable condition. One of the responding officers sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Following protocol, all officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. Body cameras worn by the officers during the encounter will be used as part of the ongoing investigation led by the Wisconsin DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation, with full cooperation from all law enforcement agencies involved.
