Crestwood, IL – A deepening investigation in the suburban town of Crestwood has led to the arrest of a man accused of murdering the CEO of a local trucking company, an incident that culminated in a fire at the company’s headquarters early this month.
On the morning of March 5, emergency responders were called to ATG Truckload due to reports of heavy smoke. Firefighters uncovered a grim scene after the fire was extinguished – the body of Dane Koteski, 46, was found with fatal stab wounds on the company’s second floor. Koteski, the CEO of ATG Truckload, was confirmed dead at the scene.
The death was promptly ruled a homicide by authorities, who initiated both a murder and arson investigation. It swiftly became apparent that the fire might have been set deliberately to conceal the crime.
