Surrey, British Columbia – The family of Aisha Harouya, a young woman who was tragically murdered in Surrey, is reaching out to the public for help in solving the case. Harouya, 21, was found dead in a parking lot in Bridgeview more than a year ago, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been investigating her death since then.
IHIT and the BC Coroners Service have both confirmed that foul play was involved in Harouya’s death, and homicide detectives have determined that she was last seen alive in the area of 100 Avenue and Whalley Boulevard in Surrey on July 24, 2022. Her family is now making a public appeal for any witnesses to come forward with information.
In a heartfelt plea, Aisha’s mother, Ashni Ram, shared her devastation over the loss of her daughter, expressing the pain of never being able to hear her daughter say “Mommy” or “I love you” again. Ram highlighted her daughter’s dreams and passions, emphasizing that Aisha’s life was cut short before she had the chance to fulfill her aspirations.
Ram also urged anyone with information about Aisha’s whereabouts or anyone she may have been in contact with on the days leading up to her death to come forward to help bring justice for her daughter and to prevent violence against women.
