Round Rock, Texas — A 17-year-old has been arrested following a tragic gunfire incident at a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park that resulted in the deaths of two women and injuries to up to 14 others. Local authorities announced the teenage suspect, identified as Ricky Thompson III, was apprehended early Thursday morning by a fugitive task force in Pflugerville. He is currently held in Williamson County Jail on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
Chief Allen Banks of the Round Rock Police Department disclosed that the arrest occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. However, details regarding bond or legal representation for Thompson were not immediately available.
