Teen Charged After Ex-Boyfriend’s Fatal Shooting

ABINGTON, PA – A 15-year-old girl is in custody following the fatal shooting of her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend, a case that has left the local community in disbelief. The incident took place on Monday afternoon in the Jenkintown section of Abington Township, Montgomery County.

The victim, Bassem Baker, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head, officials confirmed. Precious Hamilton, the alleged shooter, claims the act was unintentional.

Police discovered Baker unresponsive after being called to the scene. His mother found him on the bedroom floor when she returned home from running errands.

Witnesses reported hearing shots and screams, leading to a police response. Video evidence shows Hamilton leaving the building alone before the incident. The complaint indicates she accidentally discharged the firearm.

A photo of Hamilton with a gun was uncovered on Baker’s iPad, taken prior to the shooting. The weapon remains missing, but Hamilton reportedly admitted to stealing it months ago.

Residents are shocked by the event, describing it as atypical for the neighborhood. Concerns about youth access to firearms and parental supervision have been raised.

Hamilton is being charged as an adult with third-degree murder, among other offenses. Authorities emphasize the importance of monitoring young people’s activities to avoid such tragedies.

The investigation is ongoing, with police urging parents to be vigilant in supervising their children.
