Jackson, Tennessee, authorities are searching for Austin Robert Drummond, a murder suspect allegedly responsible for the deaths of four relatives, who remains at large as of August 2. His vehicle was discovered abandoned in a wooded area, and police have issued a warning that he is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Drummond’s car was located in Jackson, approximately an hour’s drive from Tiptonville, where the victims were found. The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) announced the discovery, urging the public to exercise caution and secure their homes. Officials reported that Drummond may have been living in his vehicle, prompting a heightened alert throughout the community.
As the search continues, the Jackson Police Department (JPD) has advised residents to be vigilant. In a public statement, authorities emphasized the importance of reporting any sightings to 911 and advised people to remain indoors as the investigation unfolds. “Please exercise caution while traveling and remain alert,” the department said, underlining the uncertainty of Drummond’s current whereabouts.
Drummond is wanted on multiple charges, including first-degree murder, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm. The four victims—Adrianna Williams, 20; James M. Wilson, 21; Cortney Rose, 38; and Braydon Williams, 15—were discovered dead in a remote area of Lake County, about 25 miles from Dyer County. They were identified as close family members of Drummond’s girlfriend.
Additionally, sources indicate that Drummond was out on bond at the time of the alleged murders. He faced prior charges for a violent incident while incarcerated, raising concerns about his unpredictable behavior. Further complicating matters, Drummond had previously served time for robbery at the age of 16.
On July 29, a significant incident led to the alarming discovery of the victims. A 911 call was made at around 10:26 p.m. indicating that Rose and her daughter were missing. Shortly after, DCSO reported the discovery of the bodies, highlighting the severity of the situation that unfolded earlier in the evening.
Earlier that day, around 3:11 p.m., deputies received calls regarding an infant found alone in a car seat, reportedly left in a front yard. A witness noted the abandoned baby and immediately contacted authorities, resulting in a swift response. Thankfully, the infant was successfully rescued and is now safe.
Law enforcement is actively seeking tips related to Drummond’s whereabouts. Community members are encouraged to report any information to the DCSO or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as the manhunt intensifies.
