PHOENIX, Ariz. — A confrontation over a bathroom line at a gas station turned deadly, leaving a man dead and another in custody. The incident unfolded on January 16 at a QuikTrip, escalating from a verbal exchange to a shooting that left 52-year-old Danny Kaster dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to law enforcement, the shooting occurred shortly before 8 a.m. when Kaster confronted 25-year-old Deondre Franklin, who allegedly bypassed a line for the men’s restroom. Witnesses reported that tension escalated quickly, with Kaster informing Franklin of the wait. Franklin’s response included a confrontation, leading to an argument that prompted both men to leave the bathroom.
Upon exiting, Kaster was shot multiple times, suffering injuries to his face, shoulder, and leg. Eyewitness accounts indicate that gunfire rang out moments after the two men exited the restroom.
