HOUSTON — A homeowner in Texas shot and killed two masked men late Friday after they allegedly posed as police officers and fired shots at the residence. The incident unfolded around midnight in southeast Houston, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.
According to authorities, the two individuals approached the home wearing bulletproof vests labeled “police” and were equipped with badges, yet they did not arrive in patrol vehicles or display any emergency lights. Their suspicious behavior raised alarms with the homeowner, particularly as they claimed to be serving a warrant.
The homeowner, equipped with a security camera, grew increasingly wary when he saw the two men at the door. “They were masked and lacked any official identification,” said Lt. Khan of the Houston Police Department. “The situation escalated when they began firing into the home. It’s clear that the residents acted to protect themselves.”
In response to the gunfire, the homeowner returned fire, ultimately striking both men. Despite the efforts of arriving officers, who attempted CPR, the suspects were pronounced dead at the scene. Thankfully, the homeowners were unharmed during the chaotic incident.
