Three Family Members with Mansfield Ties Found Shot Dead

GEORGETOWN, TX – A heartbreaking scene unfolded in Georgetown as police launched a search for a suspect involved in a triple homicide that claimed the lives of three family members. The victims, who had recently moved from Mansfield, include two adults and an eight-year-old girl.

The youngest victim, Olivia Brooks, is remembered as a beacon of joy and love by her family. Her mother, Denisha Brooks, and cousin, Alonzo Hawkins, also lost their lives in the tragic incident. Efforts are underway to bring them back to Mansfield for their final resting place.

Authorities discovered the bodies in their apartment on Saturday night, all suffering from gunshot wounds. The community is reeling from the loss, particularly mourning young Olivia’s untimely death.

Alonzo Hawkins, affectionately called “Trouble,” had joined Denisha in Georgetown to help her settle and provide support. His visit was prompted by a recent attempted break-in at their residence.

Just a day before the tragedy, someone tried to force entry into Denisha’s apartment. Alonzo, concerned for their safety, decided to stay overnight to protect them.

The police have identified a person of interest but have not disclosed any details to the public. The investigation continues as authorities seek the community’s help in capturing the suspect.

The family is left with unanswered questions and a longing for closure as they await further information from law enforcement. Fundraising efforts are also in place to cover the costs of returning their loved ones to Mansfield.
