TINLEY PARK, Ill. — Tinley Park police are set to provide an update Monday morning following a tragic incident in which a man allegedly fatally shot his wife and three daughters at their suburban home on Sunday.
The devastating event occurred in the 7400-block of 173rd Street just before 11:30 a.m. The suspect, who is the husband and father of the victims, was found uninjured inside the home with a gun when authorities arrived at the scene. It is not immediately clear if he was the one who called 911.
The victims have been identified as Majeda Kassem, 53, and her three daughters, 25-year-old twins, Halema and Zahia, and 24-year-old Hanan Kassem. As the community grapples with this tragedy, Village Manager Pat Carr expressed that it was a “tragedy, not only for the family, but all the surrounding neighbors that are there.”
The man is currently in custody with charges pending. Authorities have indicated that the incident is of a domestic nature and does not pose any harm to the general public, reassuring residents to stay away from the area as they continue their investigation.
