MIRAMAR, Fla. — Tragedy struck an office complex in Miramar, Florida, Tuesday morning after a gunman opened fire, leaving one man dead and another wounded. The local business community was put on high alert, with authorities launching a wide-scale search for the assailant, who remains on the run.
The shooting occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m. at a business located in the 10700 block of Enterprise Way, according to the Miramar Police Department. Detective Yessenia Diaz, speaking on behalf of the department, reported that both victims were employees at the complex.
The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Devon Blake from Davie, who succumbed to his injuries later at a nearby hospital. Details regarding the time of death and the nature of Blake’s injuries were not immediately released.
The second victim, whose name and gender have not been disclosed, was reported to be in stable condition following the incident. It remains unclear whether this person is still hospitalized.
As of now, police have minimal information about the suspect, described only as a roughly 6-foot-tall individual dressed in dark pants and an orange shirt. The suspect was last seen wearing a complete face mask and sunglasses, complicating efforts to identify him.
Detective Diaz noted the uncertainty surrounding the suspect’s escape route or the direction in which he fled. This lack of information has hindered the investigation and increased concerns among nearby business owners and residents.
