Tiffin, Ohio — A tragic incident has left a small community in shock following a murder-suicide that resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including two young children. On Wednesday evening, police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Huss Street, where disturbing scenes unfolded.
Authorities were alerted around 6:30 p.m., and upon arrival, they discovered a man along with two children, ages 7 months and 7 years, suffering from gunshot wounds inside the home. Outside, another man was found fatally wounded. A woman in the house, who was not physically injured, appeared to be in emotional distress as police attended to the situation.
Officials revealed that the woman had been in the process of retrieving her belongings from the residence due to ongoing domestic issues. She had made arrangements with 29-year-old Dustin Willey, the father of her eldest child, to assist her while her husband, 42-year-old Ryan Eagon, was reportedly away for work.
As Willey and the woman were managing their tasks inside, the two children were playing outside. Suddenly, they heard the cries of the 7-year-old, prompting them to investigate the commotion. They found Eagon in the driveway, leading to a chaotic confrontation during which he allegedly pursued Willey and discharged his weapon multiple times.
Tragically, Eagon’s rampage culminated in the deaths of both children before he turned the gun on himself. Willey and the 7-year-old were rushed to local hospitals but succumbed to their injuries, while the 7-month-old and Eagon were pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly expressed the community’s heartache, urging residents to support the victims’ families during this harrowing time. “This is not the kind of incident we encounter in Tiffin,” he said. The police department is asking for privacy for the mother of the children as she copes with her profound loss.
Mayor Lee Wilkinson described the incident as a tragedy that has deeply affected the fabric of the community.
