The wrongful death claim involves 20-year-old Samuel Tremblett who, while driving a 2021 Tesla Model Y, lost control of the vehicle. He veered off the road and collided with a tree, surviving the initial impact but ultimately unable to escape the car due to an alleged malfunction in the vehicle’s door system.
According to the court documents, after the crash, Tremblett called 911 for help as flames engulfed the vehicle. The transcripts from the emergency call reveal a desperate situation. Tremblett reported, “It’s on fire. Please help… I am going to die.” First responders arrived quickly, but the situation proved dire as they struggled to extinguish the fire and rescue him in time.
Firefighters reportedly battled the blaze for four hours before finally extinguishing it. Throughout this harrowing ordeal, Tremblett remained on the line with the dispatcher, pleading for help as he gasped for air. He expressed his panic, repeatedly stating he was trapped, and the vehicle was on fire.
This heartbreaking incident has intensified scrutiny regarding Tesla’s innovative yet controversial electric door system. Previous reports indicated that 15 fatalities may be linked to similar issues with Tesla’s door mechanisms, raising serious safety concerns. If the low-voltage battery fails, the doors reportedly do not open, leaving occupants unable to exit.
