Mississauga, Ontario — A woman in her 50s died after a violent assault Friday night, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement, who later arrested a man in connection with the incident.
Peel Regional Police received a call just before 8 p.m. regarding an assault at a plaza located at 1310 Dundas Street East. Officers arrived to find the woman suffering from severe injuries consistent with a violent attack.
“Reports indicated that a female had been assaulted with what is believed to be a weapon, possibly a club or a bat,” said Constable Tyler Bell during a press briefing.
