GARNER, N.C. — Authorities are investigating a tragic house fire in Wake County that has been classified as both arson and homicide. Emergency personnel responded to the scene on Rand Road, near its junction with Ten Ten Road, shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters discovered the bodies of four individuals: 49-year-old Shannon Collins, along with a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old. Additionally, the remains of two cats were found in the home. According to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, the individuals inside exhibited signs of gunshot wounds. An official determination regarding their causes of death will be made by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
