HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. — Tragedy struck a quiet community in southern Indiana as a domestic dispute escalated into a fatal shooting, leaving two elderly individuals dead and another injured on Friday evening, according to state police.
Responding to a call just after 6 p.m., officers from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police troopers arrived at a residence on Mosquito Creek Road near Laconia. Upon their arrival, they discovered a gunshot victim, who had sustained injuries to the arm, outside a neighboring house where they were seeking help.
The victim was promptly transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, receiving treatment for injuries that were reported as non-life-threatening. As authorities continued to secure the premises, they made a grim discovery near the back door of the home. An elderly couple, identified as 84-year-old Donald Weaver and 82-year-old Virginia Scofield, were found deceased.
