Tragic Double Homicide Shakes Seattle Community as Police Hunt for Suspect near Rainier Beach High School

Seattle police are actively searching for a suspect involved in the shooting deaths of two teenagers near Rainier Beach High School Friday afternoon. Authorities believe both victims were students in the Seattle School District.

The shooting unfolded shortly after school let out at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street. Seattle Assistant Police Chief Tyrone Davis confirmed that one officer was hospitalized but was conscious at the time of transport.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by Seattle Fire personnel. In the wake of the incident, police confirmed that it constitutes a double homicide. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to law enforcement’s arrival, prompting a comprehensive search of the area.

Authorities utilized a King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, alongside K-9 units, in their efforts to locate the shooter. Assistant Chief Davis emphasized the importance of community collaboration in finding the suspect. He urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward.
