YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio — A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole following a tragic incident in which he shot and killed his father. Frederick Dane Muenchau-Peterson received this severe sentence after pleading guilty to the crime, which took place on the night of January 10, 2024.
The distressing events unfolded in the 1200 block of Livermore Street. During the evening hours, a woman contacted local authorities, expressing concern for the well-being of her husband, Frederick Peterson. She explained that she was away from home but monitoring her residence through a cellphone camera system. As she viewed the footage, she witnessed Muenchau-Peterson approach the house and fire multiple shots into the living room window.
The woman quickly attempted to reach her husband by phone but was unable to make contact. Responding officers arrived shortly thereafter, where they found Peterson unresponsive on the floor of the home. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
