Tragic Hit-and-Run: Woman Dragged Under Car, Later Succumbs to Injuries as Suspect is Arrested

Minneapolis, Minnesota — A tragic incident unfolded when a woman was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle and subsequently dragged for nearly 40 yards. Authorities reported that the driver, identified as 32-year-old Sullivan, failed to stop and continued driving, with the victim trapped beneath her car.

Witnesses reported chaotic scenes as Sullivan swerved erratically before turning into a nearby parking lot. It was there that the woman was dislodged from under the vehicle. However, Sullivan’s actions appeared to have further consequences as she allegedly ran over the woman again with the rear tires.

Law enforcement officials used surveillance footage to trace Sullivan back to her home later that evening. Officers found her vehicle parked outside, heavily damaged and allegedly bearing traces of fresh blood. Sullivan admitted to being behind the wheel around the time of the incident, but specific details regarding the exact sequence of events remain unclear.

Emergency responders transported both victims from a subsequent crash to HCMC. The female victim suffered multiple severe injuries and was later pronounced dead on Friday, according to police reports. The male, who was also involved in the collision, sustained a broken wrist and other less severe injuries.

This incident raises concerns about road safety and driver accountability in the area. As investigations continue, community members are left questioning how such a devastating event could occur. Local authorities emphasize the importance of vigilance among drivers, especially in high-traffic areas where pedestrians are present.

Sullivan is now facing serious charges as the investigation unfolds, prompting discussions about potential changes to laws aimed at preventing similar tragedies in the future. The case also serves as a solemn reminder of the risks pedestrians face and the need for drivers to exercise caution at all times.
