WESTCHESTER, Calif. — An 18-year-old woman was fatally shot on a Metro bus late Friday evening after attempting to intervene in a dispute involving her boyfriend and another passenger, police said.
The violent incident unfolded around 10:45 p.m. near the intersection of Manchester and Belford avenues. According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, chaos erupted when the confrontation escalated, resulting in gunfire.
Metro officials reported that the bus driver heard multiple shots and promptly stopped the vehicle, evacuating all passengers. It was during this emergency that the young woman was discovered with injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds.
