BILLINGS, Mont. – Tragedy struck the city of Billings, Montana as it has been plagued with multiple unfortunate incidents resulting in the loss of students from Billings Public Schools. This weekend, another student’s life was tragically cut short in a fatal accident, adding to the string of recent heartbreaking events.
According to Gordon Klasna, the Director of Secondary Education, the school has established a Crisis Response Team comprising of counselors to support both staff and students dealing with these losses. He emphasized the unique and often difficult journey individuals face when navigating trauma, especially children and teenagers who struggle to express their emotions.
Klasna also addressed the shortage of mental health providers in the state, a challenge faced by the school district as well.
