Sha Reh, 19, was the sole survivor of a tragic murder-suicide that claimed the lives of his parents and three younger siblings in December 2024. His family announced his passing, attributed to natural causes, on a GoFundMe page.
Reh’s childhood was shattered when his father took the lives of his mother, along with Reh’s 11-year-old brother and two younger sisters, ages 8 and 2. Reh suffered a gunshot wound to the head during the incident, a harrowing experience that left him permanently blind. His resilience, however, became a beacon of hope for those around him.
Following the tragedy, Reh demonstrated remarkable strength. He learned to communicate using Braille at the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind, showing determination to regain his independence. His family shared that he had recently achieved a level of autonomy that allowed him to thrive despite the challenges he faced.
As a first-generation college student, Reh had big plans for his future. He was awarded a Presidential Scholarship at the University of Utah, where he intended to pursue a pre-law degree.
