Richmond, Texas – A distress call to the Coast Guard led authorities to a tragic discovery in Fort Bend County. A married couple, Alba Marina Garcia and Gene Mark Hudson-Sjogreen, was found dead in what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide inside their home on Monday.
The alarming situation unfolded after Hudson-Sjogreen failed to return from a fishing trip as expected, prompting his father to contact the Coast Guard out of concern. This led the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a wellness check at the couple’s residence on Darst Field Trail.
Even though initial investigations did not yield enough evidence to enter the home forcibly, family members’ growing unease prompted further actions. Eventually, signs of a disturbance and heightened concerns allowed deputies to enter the premises, where they discovered the tragic scene.
Sheriff Eric Fagan expressed profound condolences, acknowledging the profound impact of such a loss on the community. Garcia, a teacher at Jane Long Elementary School, and Hudson-Sjogreen, a teacher at Taylor Ray Elementary, had deep ties to the local educational community.
