BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND – Police responded to a tragic incident involving a suspected murder-suicide at a residence in Albany Creek. The bodies of a 46-year-old man and his 77-year-old aunt were discovered by detectives at a home on Jambaroo Street. The man’s 88-year-old mother, who was present at the time, thankfully escaped physical harm.
Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Williams revealed that initial investigations indicated the man, a registered firearms owner, fatally shot his aunt before turning the gun on himself. Prior to the incident, police had visited the property multiple times, though further details were not disclosed due to an ongoing coronial investigation.
Assisting authorities with the inquiry, the 88-year-old woman is cooperating with the police. Expressing condolences to the family affected by the tragedy, Williams emphasized the gravity of the situation and the need to support them during this trying time.
