Brandon’s death occurred following an altercation on the 215 Beltway, as two vehicles engaged in a dangerous showdown. Henderson Police Chief Reggie Rader recounted how drivers of an SUV and a sedan were involved in a heated confrontation at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Authorities stated that after exchanging words, a shot was fired from the sedan, striking the boy, who was seated in the back of the SUV driven by his stepfather.

In the wake of the shooting, officers arrested 22-year-old Tyler Johns, who is now facing charges of open murder and two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.
