SARASOTA, Fla. — A tragic shooting in a quiet neighborhood has left five dead, including the suspected gunman, in a seemingly targeted rampage. Authorities were alerted on Tuesday following a 911 call reporting a shooting. When deputies arrived at the residence, they discovered four individuals deceased, prompting further inquiry into the shooter’s background. The suspected gunman, identified as Russell Kot, had recently moved to Florida from Illinois and was living with Larissa Blyudoy, one of the victims. Authorities confirmed that Blyudoy and her brother were also victims of a related double homicide in Fort Lauderdale.
The investigation revealed that Kot, who had been living with the Blyudoy family until late last year, was connected to Olga Greinert, the family’s housekeeper. She was among those fatally shot in Sarasota. Following the couple’s separation, Kot allegedly reached out to family members with a concerning text message before the violent outbreak.
Law enforcement officials seized an array of weapons from Kot’s vehicle, including two handguns, ammunition, and various knives.
