LOS ANGELES — The investigation is underway following the tragic shooting of a man and a woman in the Windsor Square area late Wednesday night.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of North Ridgewood Place around 11:45 p.m. Emergency responders discovered the two victims, both suffering from gunshot injuries. Unfortunately, they were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A third victim, a 70-year-old woman, sustained injuries during the incident. She was transported to a local hospital, where medical officials anticipate her recovery.
Authorities have characterized the incident as isolated, although some initial reports suggested it may have been a murder-suicide. Those claims have not been confirmed by police.
A handgun believed to have been involved in the shooting was located at the scene. Investigators have indicated that the deceased man was 39 years old and may have been the shooter, according to sources close to the investigation.
