BOSTON, MA – The Lenox Hotel in Boston was evacuated on Saturday after a transformer explosion caused smoke to surge into the building, raising carbon monoxide levels, according to fire officials. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m., prompting a second alarm to be sounded for the hotel’s evacuation.
Thankfully, the building was safely cleared and no injuries were reported. Firefighters used fans to air out the building, mitigating the effects of the explosion. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the transformer explosion that led to the evacuation.
