TROTWOOD, Ohio — A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old in Trotwood late last month, authorities said. Armone Darnell Kinney, who faces two counts each of murder and felonious assault, was arraigned Monday in the Montgomery County Municipal Court Western Division, court records show.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Nov. 26 when police were called to the scene on West Sunrise Ave around 12:45 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a young man severely wounded.
The victim, identified as 22-year-old Eric Johnson, was quickly transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
Kinney, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, is currently held at the Montgomery County Jail. His bond has been set at $500,000.
