The Women’s Coordination in the Democratic Civil Administration of Tabqa canton, as well as other women’s organizations in North and East Syria, have condemned the Turkish occupation state’s courts in the occupied territories for issuing a death sentence against two kidnapped women and life imprisonment for eight others, according to the Violations Documentation Center. The violations against women in the occupied areas have escalated since the Turkish occupation in 2018, with reports of forced disappearance, arrest, rape, deprivation of freedom, and demand for ransom.
Kongra Star in Afrin – al-Shahba canton called for human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene quickly to uncover the violations and hold the perpetrators accountable. The Council of the Zenobia Women’s Association in Raqqa canton emphasized that the actions of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries are contrary to international laws, conventions, and human rights. They called on international organizations and human rights advocates to take a strong stance against these violations, especially those targeting women.
