Islamabad, Pakistan – In a late-night raid, two individuals were detained for their alleged involvement in a violent rampage at Shalimar Police Station, officials said Monday. The assault, which took place following the detention of participants from a Jamaat-e-Islami protest, saw a mob forcefully entering the station, resulting in significant property damage.
The arrested suspects, Muhammad Daniyal and Iftikhar Hussain, are accused of leading the charge against the police facility. According to the authorities, the mob comprised approximately 35 to 45 people who not only threatened the lives of officers but also caused extensive damage to the station facilities before fleeing the scene.
