Violence Strikes Bokaro: Elderly Couple Murdered, Unidentified Body Discovered, and Missing Mason Sparks Outrage

Bokaro, India — A series of tragic incidents unfolded in Bokaro district on Monday, leading to the deaths of four individuals across three separate cases. Investigations are currently underway as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding these incidents.

In Harla, an elderly couple was found brutally murdered in their home. Mahavir Saw, 67, and his wife, Kaushalya Devi, 63, were discovered with multiple stab wounds in their room at a local tea stall they operated. The couple, originally from Barkhi-Chidri in the Gomia block, had been well-known in the community. The officer-in-charge of Harla police station, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, announced that the bodies had been sent for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. “We are actively investigating this case,” Alam said, emphasizing the need for swift justice.

In a separate incident, the body of an unidentified individual was recovered near Tenughat Dam. Found early Monday morning, the victim appeared to have suffered significant trauma, specifically to the head and face. Local law enforcement believes the person may have been murdered elsewhere and subsequently dumped in the area. Officer Bhajan Lal Mahato of the Tenughat outpost stated that the body is also undergoing a post-mortem examination while the investigation continues.

Additionally, a mason named Pankaj Mahto has been reported missing in Chira Chas, prompting distress among his family members. On Sunday, Pankaj did not return from work, which led his relatives to suspect foul play. In a heated response, members of his family vandalized the home of Harsh Karmakar, who was reportedly the last person seen with Pankaj. Police intervened to protect both Harsh and his mother from the agitated crowd. Pushpraj, the officer in charge of Chira Chas Police Station, provided details about the situation. “Pankaj left his home around 4:30 PM, leaving his belongings behind,” he noted, indicating that the circumstances surrounding Pankaj’s disappearance remain murky.

As investigations proceed, local authorities are grappling with rising concerns over safety in the community. Each of these cases raises significant questions about the stability and security within the district, prompting calls for enhanced police presence and community awareness initiatives. The families of the victims, along with concerned citizens, are waiting for updates on the investigations as they seek justice and answers in the wake of these violent events.
