HOOVER, Ala. – A Hoover woman was charged with two counts of murder and one count of reckless endangerment in connection to a fatal traffic accident that occurred in October, according to the Hoover Police Department. Sarah Rose Tisdale, 34, was taken into custody on Friday afternoon, after the crash that claimed the lives of a husband and wife, identified as Teresa and George Roberts.
The incident took place on October 31, when a Lexus RX 350, driven by Tisdale, crossed into the opposite lane and struck a Nissan Rogue on John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover. Both Teresa and George Roberts died at the scene of the crash, while Tisdale and a 3-year-old passenger in the Lexus sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.
After an investigation, Hoover Police Department traffic homicide investigators determined that Tisdale was driving under the influence of controlled substances at the time of the crash. As a result, the Jefferson County-Bessemer District Attorney’s Office issued warrants for her arrest. Tisdale was subsequently transported to the Jefferson County Jail on no bond.
The tragic incident has highlighted the serious consequences of driving under the influence, underscoring the importance of responsible and sober driving to prevent such devastating accidents in the future. The legal proceedings following Tisdale’s arrest will serve as a reminder of the importance of upholding traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.
