MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A woman was shot and robbed after giving several people a ride home from a party Saturday afternoon, according to the police. The victim was found lying on the ground inside the Eastern Heights Apartments in Binghampton with a gunshot wound to the back of her neck. She was in extremely critical condition when rushed to the hospital, but officers were able to speak with her briefly before she was taken for treatment.

The woman told police that she had been at a party in the area of Dwight and Pendleton when several individuals asked her for a ride to the apartment complex off North Holmes Street. Upon arrival, the suspects shot her, dragged her out of her car, went through her pockets, and stole her purse. Investigators released pictures of at least four individuals fleeing the scene of the shooting, with two women seen carrying what appeared to be bags or purses.
