Accident on Tampines Junction Claims Two Lives: Teen Student and Van Passenger Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash

Singapore – Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving multiple vehicles at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 4 on Monday. Police reported that a 17-year-old female car passenger and a 57-year-old female van passenger succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital following the crash.

The deceased teenage girl was a student at Temasek Junior College, en route to the annual TJC Run when the accident occurred. The principal of TJC expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the student and assured that support would be provided to those affected by the tragedy.

The second victim, a female associated with a local pest control firm, was also pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, various individuals, including drivers and passengers of the involved vehicles, were taken to different hospitals for treatment, with one car driver assisting the authorities with their inquiries.

Upon responding to the incident, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) described the scene where one individual was trapped under a car wheel, necessitating the use of hydraulic equipment for extraction. The SCDF commended the public-spiritedness of those who rendered aid to the injured before their arrival.

Footage shared on social media platforms depicted the aftermath of the crash, showing the extensive damage to the vehicles involved and the presence of emergency response teams at the scene. Images captured by eyewitnesses further illustrated the severity of the collision, with a vehicle overturned on the roadway.
