Alert: Alleged Killer and Abductor Elias Huizar Sought by Police

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Authorities are currently in pursuit of Elias Huizar, the suspect involved in the tragic incident at William Wiley Elementary School. Reports indicate that Huizar allegedly killed his ex-wife and girlfriend before fleeing the scene with his one-year-old child, prompting an Amber Alert issued by the Washington State Patrol.

According to the alert, law enforcement officers are actively searching for Huizar, 39, and his son Roman Huizar, 1. The suspect is believed to be driving a silver 2009 Toyota Corolla with the license plate number CBZ4745, with speculation that he may be headed towards Mexico.

The West Richland Police Department revealed that Huizar is linked to the shooting of a woman at the elementary school on Monday. Additionally, another female victim was found deceased at his residence. Huizar was also facing charges related to child rape, with a scheduled court appearance on the same day.

The initial shooting occured during the afternoon as students were leaving William Wiley Elementary, prompting several schools to initiate lockdown procedures. Huizar is considered armed and dangerous, with authorities urging the public to immediately report any sightings of him.

Huizar, a former Yakima police officer, has a troubling history, as court documents indicate he was charged with child rape in February. The incident involved the assault of a teenager, as reported by his underage girlfriend who witnessed Huizar assaulting her 16-year-old friend in his home.

Having served nearly nine years as a police officer, from June 2013 to February 2022, Huizar’s actions have shocked the community.
