Argument at Circle K Gas Station Leads to Fatal Shooting at El Paso Apartment Complex

El Paso, Texas – A man in El Paso is facing charges for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend at an apartment complex after an argument, court documents revealed. Gabriel Samuel Arnold, 24, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force following an El Paso police investigation into the death of 26-year-old Kimberly Alaniss Segovia on March 27.

According to a detective’s complaint affidavit, Arnold allegedly confessed to shooting Segovia 16 times with a 9mm handgun. The affidavit also mentioned that Arnold expressed a desire to avoid spending the rest of his life in jail for the crime. Currently, Arnold is being held on a $1 million bond at the El Paso County Jail without legal representation listed in court records.

Police discovered the tragic incident occurred while Arnold was out on bond awaiting trial for charges related to driving while intoxicated and burglary from the previous year, as per El Paso County court records. Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Unit pieced together a timeline of events leading up to and following the shooting at the Tres Palmas Apartments in El Paso’s far East Side.

Witnesses reported seeing the couple argue at a bar before the fatal shooting. Surveillance footage captured Segovia’s car arriving at the bar, with Arnold visibly upset and engaged in a heated exchange with Segovia. The couple left together after the argument, leading up to the tragic events that unfolded later that night.

More details emerged regarding the moments leading up to the shooting, with security footage showing Arnold’s erratic behavior at a nearby gas station where he approached strangers asking for a ride. Witnesses also described an intense argument between Arnold and Segovia, with Segovia warning bystanders about Arnold’s intentions.

The investigation unfolded further as detectives traced Arnold’s movements following the shooting, linking him to the scene and later abandoning Segovia’s car in a separate location. Through a series of interviews and video evidence, authorities were able to piece together a timeline of events leading to Arnold’s arrest for the murder of Segovia.

On April 9, investigators carried out a search warrant at an apartment linked to Arnold, where they discovered incriminating evidence. Reports indicated that Arnold was in possession of a firearm, a pink wallet, and personal items belonging to his victim. Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, Arnold was apprehended by law enforcement officials without incident and remains in custody.
