Assailants Sought After Violent LRT Station Assault in Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta – Police in Edmonton are searching for multiple suspects following a violent assault that occurred at an LRT station in the city last month.

The incident took place at Churchill Station on February 24th, where a 64-year-old man was waiting for a train early in the morning. According to authorities, the man was approached by an individual and a verbal exchange ensued, leading to a physical attack that resulted in the victim being severely assaulted and robbed.

In total, six people were involved in the attack on the elderly man before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover. Two individuals have since been apprehended, with warrants issued for a third suspect, as investigators work to identify the remaining three assailants.

Authorities released a photograph of the three unidentified suspects in hopes of generating leads from the public. Descriptions of the suspects were provided, outlining details of their appearance and clothing at the time of the incident.

In addition to the search for the unidentified suspects, warrants have been issued for Markus Lee Gladue, 21, for charges related to aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, and robbery. Similarly, Brady Rodney Descroches-Smith, 28, has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery, while also being wanted for first-degree murder by another law enforcement agency.

Further complicating the situation, Travis Damian Houle, 35, is facing charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and failure to comply with a court order. The Edmonton Police Service is urging anyone with information on the unidentified assailants to come forward and assist in the investigation.
